Halogen Systems Reagent-Free Chlorine and Water-Quality Monitoring

Continuous chlorine and multiparameter monitoring for drinking water, wastewater, building water, cooling towers and ballast water. We help you choose the sensor, mounting and data connection for your site.

What Halogen Systems Provides

Halogen Systems builds reagent-free, membrane-free amperometric chlorine sensors with self-cleaning electrodes, plus the controller and communications that connect them to plant, utility, building and ship systems.

  • Free chlorine, total chlorine / monochloramine, pH and ORP sensors
  • Direct in-pipe or in-loop installation with no reagents and no waste stream
  • SensiCLENE self-cleaning to reduce scale and biofilm fouling
  • D20 controller with 4-20 mA, Modbus RTU and optional cellular, EtherNet/IP, BACnet or Modbus TCP

Product Families

MP5, MP-TOTAL, MP-HOT, MP-ORP

Chlorine & Multiparameter Sensors

Reagent-free MP-series sensors. Each model measures a different set of parameters, so start with what your program needs to track.

  • MP5: free chlorine, pH, ORP, conductivity and temperature
  • MP-TOTAL: total chlorine and monochloramine for chloraminated systems
  • MP-HOT: hot water and cooling loops up to 60°C (140°F)
  • MP-ORP: continuous pH and ORP for process control and disinfection monitoring
D20, Halogen Cloud, Data from Anywhere

Controller & Connectivity

The D20 displays and controls all MP-series sensors and passes data to SCADA, BMS, AMI or the cloud.

  • Four 4-20 mA outputs and Modbus RTU standard
  • One optional board: cellular LTE-M/NB-IoT, EtherNet/IP, BACnet or Modbus TCP
  • SD card logging, alarm relay, automatic sensor detection, IP65 enclosure
  • Halogen Cloud history, trends and alerts; cellular IoT, Sensus AMI and BLE options
Wet-tap, side stream, immersion, PVC tee

Installation Options

Four ways to install a Halogen sensor. Halogen lists each mounting option as NSF-61 certified for drinking water contact, with no waste stream.

  • Wet-tap with remover: install and remove on a live main, rated to 145 PSI
  • MKIT side stream: wall-mounted flow cell, 60 PSI maximum
  • Immersion: clearwells, tanks, basins and channels; works at zero flow
  • PVC tee: direct inline pipe install, rated to 145 PSI
Marine TRO Sensor

Maritime & Ballast Water

Dedicated Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) monitoring for ballast water management.

  • TRO measurement for ballast water management programs
  • Five parameters, no reagents, self-cleaning
  • Halogen lists DNV-GL, KR and IECEx certification for the Marine TRO sensor
  • Real-time reporting and remote telemetry for fleet vessels

Application help

Not sure which chlorine analyzer or installation is right for you?

Tell us where you're measuring (plant, distribution, remote site, tank, hot water loop, cooling tower or ballast system), whether the water is chlorinated or chloraminated, which parameters you need, how you want to install the sensor, the line pressure and the power and communications available. Replacing an analyzer? Send the make and model. If you don't know an answer, mark it unknown.
